I completely understand why Hampton University is admitting Nu’Keese Richardson. One, he’s a talented football player. Two, it makes for a decent human interest story as he tries to redeem himself of reprehensible behaviors past.
But come on; the once-sharp angle of the Pirates letting in thugs every other year is getting a little dull. Even for an institution all about awarding second chances and making better men, the trend of Hampton being the bailout school of choice for the most indiscriminate of characters is starting to wear a little thin.
