Elizabeth City State legend Anthony Hilliard has accomplished all that any basketball player could ask for over a collegiate career. And to cap it off, he finishes his career with a double-double in the Division II All-Star Game last night.

Anthony Hilliard, the two-time CIAA men’s basketball Player of the Year and fourth-leading scorer in Elizabeth City State University history, can add one more accolade to his legendary list. He has been named to the Division II all-Region first team for the third consecutive year, making him eligible for the Division II all-American team.

Anthony Hilliard Collects His 1000th Rebound in Win Over Livingstone

Elizabeth City State University guard Anthony Hilliard, whom we have already determined is amazing, became the second men’s basketball player in ECSU history to collect more than 1000 career rebounds in a 77-65 home win over the Livingstone Blue Bears.
Hilliard finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds, good for his 51st career double-double. He joins Oscar Smith in the 1000-rebound club, who first accomplished the feat during the 1968 season.

Anthony Hilliard Makes Sports Illustrated "Faces in the Crowd"

Anthony Hilliard, Mr. Do It All for the Elizabeth City State Vikings basketball team, made Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd” segment last week. The senior guard is averaging slightly over 25 points per game, and is leading the CIAA in scoring and rebounding.

If you had to pick the best player in black college men’s basketball, chances are you would first look to the MEAC to find him. Maybe Tywain McKee at Coppin State, perhaps SC State big man Jason Johnson.But the best player in black college basketball, and one of the best in all of college basketball, is Anthony Hilliard of the undefeated Elizabeth City State Vikings. The senior guard out of Fayetteville, NC leads the conference in scoring at just under 26 points per game, and is second in the conference in rebounding at 11.4 through eight games.
