I’m really surprised that Hampton didn’t try to keep this guy at home. Latrell Scott is one of the youngest coaches in Division I football, and by most accounts, one of its most promising.

Now he’s taking his youth, expert recruiting and vision to Richmond, a reputable FCS program.

Was he not on HU’s short list last year? He had stops at UVA and Tennessee in just a few years. Can’t really think of a reason why he wasn’t whispered about for the gig that eventually turned into a 6-6 debut for Donovan Rose this year.

Maybe he’ll return to alma mater in the future, but what is today’s good luck for Scott is certainly didn’t turn out to be the best look for the immediate future of Hampton football.
