Sources close to Alabama State University have disclosed to the HBCU Sports Blog one of the most obvious rumors in the history of black college sports: the Hornets 21-0 loss to Tuskegee in the Turkey Day Classic spells the end for Reggie Barlow’s tenure as head coach.

The prospect of people saying it before the university has made it public is still exciting, but not so much that any fan couldn’t have seen it coming a mile away. After a 3-0 start to the season, the Hornets won only one game throughout the remainder of the schedule, and were competitive in just one other contest during the stretch.

Barlow has been saying the things that may keep him A job, but not necessarily the head coaching position. And because Tuskegee was so convincing in its nationally televised drubbing of the Hornets, the embarrassment may prove to be too much for alumni and admin at the university.

And if there is good news to come out of this inevitable coaching change, its that Barlow and his staff will soon be able to ensure the safety of their cars from yokel ASU fans.
