Theo Smalling, a senior forward and captain of the Hampton University men’s basketball team, has died after being accidentally shot in the abdomen last Saturday night. The 22-year-old died last night after several days of being in critical condition resulting from the gunshot wound.
A memorial service is being planned for tonight on the Hampton University campus.
