Steve McNair, a black college football legend and former NFL MVP has been shot and killed. Details are still coming in, but McNair and an unidentified woman were found fatally-wounded by gunshots in a Nashville condominium earlier today.
McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens, passing for 31,304 yards and 174 touchdowns. As a collegian at Alcorn State University, McNair was a finalist for the Heisman Award in 1994, and was among the first African-American quarterbacks to find a long-term place in the NFL.
