According to Bonitta Best with the Triangle Tribune, multiple new faces will soon be in place within the Shaw University athletics administration.
According to Best’s report, Al Carter has been reassigned out of the athletics department, and women’s basketball coach Jacques Curtis on an interim basis. Long-time sports information director Terry Spicer is also outta there.
What’s going on at Shaw? Quite a turnover for a school with recent championships in football, men’s and women’s tennis. Even with the announcement of a new president, this kind of scorched-earth policy in the department may be a little premature for the vision of Bears athletics to take a stronger hold in sports-rich North Carolina.
