Seriously, anybody else think that this job is wrapped up tight for Tim Grant now that Earl Monroe has spoken? If Winston-Salem bucks what appears to be a consensus opinion from its most prominent alumnus, it would be signal the certain loss of support from Ram faithful and a sure return to the CIAA.
A return that Monroe would also support, by the way.
Grant has connection to the university, and familiarity with the area as the city’s director of Parks and Recreation. Any other direction the school may attempt to go in at this point would be met with serious criticism in the media and with local supporters. With all that is on the line for the Rams program, this is surely a “handle with care” situation, and a situation that is shaping up just right for Tim Grant to step in.
