You may not be able to depend on their weekly polls, but the Sheridan Broadcast Network can put together an all-America team. Here are the players that made the 2008 Black College Football all-America list.

The players of the year were Tuskegee quarterback Jacary Atkinson, Jackson State linebacker Marcellus Speaks, and the Coach of the Year award went to Henry Frazier III. But as compelling as the list is, nothing tops the announcement like the naming of the host for the annual awards dinner.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event is Comedian, Actor and Genius, Michael Colyar, who will be joined on the stage by co-hosts Ty Miller, SBN Director of Sports and Anji Corley, On-Air Personality, WAMO-FM, Pittsburgh.

Genius you say? Michael Colyar is a genius? For what? Coining the phrase “Who in da hell lef’ da gate open?” on BET Live several years ago? For guest appearances on Martin? Or is he a genius because he was willing to do the show?

I’m willing to take the latter.
