The rumors continue, but they appear to be getting louder. Alonzo Lee is expected to be named the next head football coach at North Carolina A&T, with interim head coach George Ragsdale staying on as assistant head coach.
The position at A&T has been among the hottest in black college football over the last few weeks. Several high profile names, including Prairie View A&M’s Henry Frazier III, Jackson State’s Rick Comegy, and Tuskegee’s Willie Slater, were all being floated around as potential candidates.
If Lee is indeed the choice, the Aggies get a proven defensive guru who has left his mark at several MEAC programs. His last stop at Morgan State yielded one of the top total defenses in the country. Prior to his stint in Baltimore, Lee headed up defensive units at A&T, Howard, FAMU and Hampton.
Questions will remain about the Aggie offense, but a Lee hire will reinvigorate the fan base and the supporting community.

He’s better than Fobbs, but he doesn’t reinvigorate this Aggie.

Who would be a better candidate in your opinion?
Not to say that you are wrong, because you are an active supporter of the program. But who could A&T get that would be willing to leave a successful program for a rebuilding task at A&T?
