He was drafted in the last round of this year’s NFL Draft out of the CIAA’s St. Augustine’s College, but Cleveland Browns linebacker Alex Hall is quickly making a first-rate name for himself in the NFL. In the last three weeks, Hall has collected three sacks in as many starts. He is the team leader in the category, and has established himself as one of the league’s promising young linebackers.
Not a bad look for the linebacker out of Glenarden, MD who finished his career with the Falcons as the school’s all-time leader in sacks and tackles for loss.
You could argue the points on why black colleges are not bigger players on the national sports scene, but you can never call these schools short on talent. Hall will continue his path to NFL greatness, and hopefully, that path will lead more scouts and recognition back to the black college ranks throughout the nation.
