It’s easy to get caught in some of the more notable teams in black college football, but you better pay close attention when the following teams so up at your doorstep on Saturday.

Virginia State University – The Trojans bounced back from a debacle against Norfolk State two weeks ago with a convincing 43-16 win against Johnson C. Smith. That game earned player of the week awards for quarterback Leonard Johnson, running back Teron Hampton, and linebacker Isaac Mitchell.

Prairie View A&M – Two weeks ago was just a warm-up for Henry Frazier III and the Prairie View A&M Panthers, as they put an even bigger hurting on Texas College this past weekend. With a scoring average of 43.5 per game, and an undefeated record, the Panthers are the team to beat in the SWAC right now.

North Carolina A&T  – The last few years for the Aggies have been well-documented, but a stingy defense has been the calling card for North Carolina A&T’s fast start in 2008.
