Now here’s a story you don’t see everyday. A local prep star finds himself recruited by big time college football programs, but receives his only scholarship offer from a historically black college.
The prep star, not being a fool, takes the offer; only to find himself shuffled in and out of the line-up, and settled on the bench behind the eventual SWAC Offensive Player of the Year.
But 2008 is Jonathan Moore’s year to prove himself and the UAPB Golden Lions and a contender for the SWAC championship title. There have been signs of nerves throughout camp for Moore and the Lions’ defense, but they appear to be flourishing under first year head coach Monte Coleman at the right time.
